Colorado Springs Chiropractor Dr. Nancy Pearce

All too often it’s the practitioner who gets all the information about the patient, and the patient gets little information about the practitioner and her practice. I would like to change that.

A Little About Me...

My full name is Nancy Jean Pearce and I was born in San Antonio, Texas. I attended The University of Texas at Austin where I obtained a BA in Psychology and a BS in Geology. I have a wonderful, gentle Malamute named Woofie with whom I go cross-country skiing, hiking and camping. In the warm weather months I get on my mountain bike and enjoy the forest and the challenge of staying upright on the trails.

My Inspiration for Becoming a Chiropractor

I originally was inspired to be a healing practitioner because of an injury I received while enthusiastically participating in the sport of softball. I felt a lightning bolt going down my right leg. Two weeks of Advil, a heating pad and BenGay offered no relief. I did not want to see a doctor because I was in too much pain to say “No” if they thought I needed surgery.

I heard that a friend of mine, Mari, a professor at UT Medical School in Houston, was going to a chiropractor. “How can she go see a chiropractor? I thought they were quacks!”  Mari told me that drugs helped but she was unable to work, physical therapy only felt good while she was at the clinic, surgery was not an option, so then she tried chiropractic. She went frequently at first, felt well between visits and now she went once a month. I made an appointment with her chiropractor. He gently adjusted me using pressure points on my low back to release two long weeks of excruciating muscle spasms, rolled me over and adjusted my neck with a “pop” and no pain. I sat up and was completely blown away---I felt so much better!!! Why didn’t I know that chiropractic could give me such profound relief so quickly?  Why did I think this was quackery?  Within a short time I was pain free but I was full of questions. Dr. Marmorstein answered all those questions adding that “Nancy, those were great questions, you should become a chiropractor.”

A Chiropractic Education

A couple years later, I resigned my position as a Reservoir Geologist at Columbia Gas and entered Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas.  I graduated with cum laude honors in August 1993. I chose to devote my life to the natural healing arts because I passionately believe that the power that made the body can heal the body when given a chance.

My Daily Inspiration

I am grateful I did so because I love connecting with patients’ hearts and minds so that they may work and play without pain. I am thrilled to see the light in patients’ eyes after an adjustment, the joy I feel when a young girl can leave her wheelchair behind, when a young woman can keep up with her husband, a triathlete, while climbing Mount Princeton. My practice is about “high fiving” the release of emotional and physical burdens.

I believe with all my heart in how I practice and I always strive to improve it. I believe I give an excellent service for a fair fee. I want to help people to have a vibrant, healthy life.  I want you to refer and continue to refer patients to me because taking care of the human frame, diet, toxins, and emotions is the answer for most of today’s health problems.

I established this clinic in Colorado Springs because I fell in love with the mountains of Colorado when I was an undergraduate geology major. I am challenged and cleansed by going up into the mountains.

Dr. Nancy Asks some important questions of interest to Colorado Springs residents - Chiropractor Colorado Springs Dr. Nancy Asks...

Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
How do most people deal with vertebral subluxations?
First, they try to ignore them. When they don't, they go to the medicine cabinet to stop their brain from feeling the symptom. Later, back surgery may be threatened. Sadly, it's not until this later stage that they consult our Colorado Springs chiropractic office. Yet, even with the delay, most are delighted by the results produced by today's chiropractic care. Contact us and let's get started.
